Evidence of Global Convergence: Perspectives for Economic and Territory Planning in Times of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Governments and international organizations have implemented efforts to promote the convergence of socioeconomic indicators between countries. The structural funds adopted by European Union institutions are examples policy instruments in GDP (gross domestic product) among member states. Nonetheless, these measures dependent on several internal external factors, making vulnerable exogenous shocks such as those associated with global financial crisis COVID-19 pandemic. From this perspective, research aims analyze trends over last few years assess respective implications pandemic framework. For that, statistical information from World Bank for per capita was considered period 2006–2021 all countries organized each group levels income world region. These data were analyzed through panel approaches, considering developments theory. results show that signs different level region, highlighting idea clubs convergence. On other hand, disturbed verified worldwide, but nonetheless, it seems be a smaller scale than crisis. In any case, findings should confirmed future more recent data.
